Defense

With the very much changed supporting cast around him in Boston in recent years, his numbers may have decreased slightly, but Rondo is still one of the best defensive guards in the NBA. Rondo has staggering quickness, not just physically, but mentally also.

This ability to anticipate, allows him to restrict opponent’s movement, and disrupt play in the passing lanes.

Rondo is a defensive anchor in the backcourt and his ability to steal the ball should be particularly appealing for Sacramento. For his career, Rondo averages an impressive 1.9 steals per game.

With Gay and Cousins on board to run the floor, Rondo stealing the ball would lead to some highly entertaining transition play in Sacramento.
