Memphis Grizzlies – Oct. 11

Following a summer that in the early stages seemed to have all the potential to be one of the most unhinged in NBA history, the Grizzlies have pretty much stood pat entering the new season. Their core trio of Marc Gasol, Zach Randolph and Mike Conley remain intact, as does coach Dave Joerger, despite talks with Minnesota shortly after the season ended.

The Grizzlies mark the first of the Hawks preseason road games, and should make for a strong challenge.

Just like with the Pelicans, Atlanta lost both of their meetings with the Grizzlies last season, meaning this is a matchup they would like to get a handle on entering into the season proper. The Grizzlies aren’t necessarily the most free flowing offense in the league, so as a result, this should act as a good test for the Hawks defensive shape.

With Thabo Sefolosha and Kent Bazemore having bolstered the Hawks’ wing defense, they’ll be hoping for success in this one.
