Defense

Burton is a ball of intensity and energy, and he brings that with him to the defensive end of the floor. Although small, Burton is strong, and has a solid frame that doesn’t allow him to be bullied around. The same quickness that allows him to blow by defenders on the other end, is a factor in his lateral movement too, where Burton is very impressive defending on-ball.

His tenacious on-court demeanor means Burton is constantly pestering the opposition too. Burton will charge out to his man to contest shots on the perimeter, while he’ll also keep opposing guards in close quarters to try and grab a steal. Last season, Burton averaged 1.7 steals per game, as part of an all-round impressive defensive output.
