Recapping Joseph’s Third Year With The Silver And Black

Diaw had a team-high 26 in the win over the Thunder, but in just seven minutes Cory was another huge cog for San Antonio (sixth during the regular season at 97.6 points allowed per game) returning to the NBA Finals and finishing the regular season a league-best 62-20.

Surprisingly, Joseph, a defensive specialist, had 32 points during the WCF. Cory only totaled half that many for the rest of the playoffs. Altogether for the postseason, Joseph, who scored 59 points during 20 games in the 2013 playoffs, had 2.8 points per game on 48.6 percent shooting during a minuscule 5.1 minutes per game.

Compared to his regular-season numbers, Cory’s statistics were quite similar to playing in 17 2014 playoff games. During 13.8 MPG Joseph scored 5.0 PPG on 47.5 percent shooting. With more minutes, Cory’s rebounds (1.6) and assists (1.7) were more than triple the amount (0.5 per game each) he had during the playoffs.
