Defensive Focus

Scott is all energy and enthusiasm on the offensive end, but he doesn’t bring that intensity with him for every possession on the opposite end of the floor. The biggest issue for the former Virginia Cavalier is that he doesn’t seem to have the type of attention span that’s necessary to see off your opponent for the full 24 seconds of the shot clock.

These lapses in concentration can be costly, and it will definitely be an area that both Scott and the Hawks will be looking to work on. Scott has good length, and decent lateral quickness, so it’s purely the mental side of defense that needs to be honed. If Scott can develop greater awareness, and sustain his focus, his defensive game could be transformed in no time.
