Sixth Man Of The Year Contender

After logging relatively light minutes in the first three months of last season, Scott’s role was completely transformed by Al Horford‘s injury at the turn of the year. From that point on, Scott was playing 20 plus minutes every night, and more often than not doing so as the first man off the bench.

For 2014, Scott averaged 11 points, and 3.8 rebounds in approximately 20 minutes per game. Although it’s far from stunning, it’s something that I’d expect Scott to build on. During that time, Scott virtually took Louis Williams role as the instant offense provider off the bench, and with greater trust from his coaches this season, he’ll push those numbers out further. It may not be this year, but in the near future, don’t be surprised to hear Scott’s name in the mix for Sixth Man.
