With his playful character, sense of humor and explosive game, Mike Scott has become a bit of a cult figure in Atlanta. So, when the news broke of Scott’s return with the Atlanta Hawks, it was cause to rejoice for many fans.

Scott’s new deal with the Hawks was first reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, and is said to be valued at $10 million over three years.

After making a big impact with the Hawks in the playoffs, after what was an all-around impressive second season for Scott, it was no surprise that the Hawks wanted him back. The bigger question was always going to be whether another team was going to swoop in, and take advantage of Scott’s restricted free agent status by paying him more than the Hawks were prepared to match.
