Sacramento Kings: Ray McCallum Ready To Step Up?

Defense

The Kings haven’t been an elite defensive team for quite a while, and in all honesty, there’s very little to signal that that’s going to change any time soon. If they are going to push to change their culture on the defensive end, the best place to start is in the backcourt.

Part of the reason why the Kings are reported to have chosen Darren Collison over Thomas was that they felt he was a better defender, and McCallum needs to try and mesh in with that. He needs to make smart decisions, show effort and pressure his opponent, and work at increasing his 1.0 steals per 36 minutes.
