Quality Of Competition

Just like in the NBA, the intensity and talent on offer at the World Cup will be hard to find elsewhere. For younger players like Drummond in particular, it should help him hit the ground running when the NBA season rolls around, as he won’t be as long removed from top level basketball as most around the league.

The talent around the World Cup, from within his own team in practice to some of the unknown quantities he’s yet to face, should help Drummond become more rounded as a pro.

What always comes out in international competition is how certain players elevate their game while bearing their national colors on their chest. Not only will this mean, that Drummond could come up against players he’s familiar with from the NBA, playing above their usual level, but there will also be players he may never have heard of causing him all sorts of problems.
