Developing Relationships With The Stars Of The NBA

For many of the top tier players in the NBA, one of the few opportunities they get to play together is on the international stage. Team USA offers the best players in the NBA a rare chance to work out with, and learn from each other.

From Drummond’s perspective, working with and going up against guys like Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins in practice can only teach him more about his game.

This is also the environment in which players form friendships that can come into play further down the line in the NBA. For example, their familiarity from the U.S. team was a big factor in Miami’s “Big Three” coming together in 2010.

If the Pistons are looking to attract another star in the coming years, or Drummond is looking to team up with someone elsewhere, the relationship formed over the next couple of months is what it could all come back to.
