Playing Under Coach K

Mike Krzyzewski, or Coach K as he’s commonly known, has been the cornerstone of USA Basketball for the bulk of 35 years. This summer’s World Cup will be Krzyzewski’s seventh international tournament as head coach, having also served as an assistant on three occasions.

Put alongside his 34 years of service and four national championships at Duke, Coach K is in the conversation as one of the greatest coaches of all-time.

Krzyzewski has guided countless college prospects into the NBA during his time at Duke, and the opportunity to be coached by him is a significant part of the appeal of Team USA for the players. He offers a fresh set of eyes for these players, and with a wealth of basketball knowledge, even just a few weeks with Coach K could help bring an extra dimension to Drummond’s game.
