Cartier Martin (Signed)

Cartier Martin may not be on the casual NBA fan’s radar, but he is an extremely capable role player. Although Martin’s exact salary hasn’t quite come to light yet, he is said to have signed for the Pistons on a two-year deal, with the second being a player option.

Martin has spent much of his early career bouncing around the NBA, but last season in Atlanta, he proved what he’s capable of. Martin is a 6″7′ swingman who will show effort on both the defensive end and off the glass. More importantly, he’s an excellent three-point shooter too. Martin averaged 38.4 percent on three point attempts with the Hawks, and was particularly effective when he got his feet set at the top of the arc.

Where many guys rest on their laurels under the security of a guaranteed contract, Martin has played on enough ten day contracts that it’s unlikely he’ll take it for granted.

If you still want to learn more about Martin, I also wrote an end of season review about him.
