Isaiah Thomas (Rumored)

Wait a second…Isaiah Thomas? Although the spelling might be different, the name will sound pleasantly familiar to Pistons fans. With rumors of Stan Van Gundy’s interest in the Sacramento Kings restricted free agent, there could be a Thomas manning the point in Detroit again soon.

Aaron Bruski of NBC Sports ProBasketballTalk reported that the Pistons have sounded Thomas out about a three-year $24m deal, and there’s no doubt it’s an interesting idea. Many feel that Brandon Jennings hasn’t done enough to convince Stan Van Gundy and the Pistons as a whole that he can lead the team forward.

With that in mind, Thomas who averaged over 20 points per game last season, would seem like a logical choice. Thomas is less of the streaky shooter that Brandon Jennings is, and has strong defensive instincts despite his size. With the Kings rumored to be interested in Josh Smith there’s sign and trade potential in this deal also.
