Carmelo Anthony:

One common thread you’ll see in the first day of free agency is the Dallas Mavericks are interested in everyone and their mothers. We already knew Mark Cuban and Dirk Nowitzki would be trying to convince unrestricted free agent Carmelo Anthony to join them in Dallas, but now it appears the Mavs will be focusing in on Melo before even LeBron James:

The Mavs are expected to meet with Melo in Dallas on Wednesday. The Los Angeles Clippers are also interested in Melo and LeBron (who isn’t?) despite not having any meetings lined up:

The New York Knicks have reached out to Melo despite him beginning his nationwide tour to meet with teams today.

Melo is meeting with the Chicago Bulls Tuesday, the Mavs and Houston Rockets Wednesday and the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday.

Joakim Noah will be present at the Chicago Bulls’ pitch meeting for Melo and he may even bring along Derrick Rose, who has repeatedly said he won’t recruit guys to come play with him.
