Jameer Nelson Released: Where Should He Land?
BROOKLYN NETS
If 2011 me saw that I was writing this, 2011 me would slap the taste out of 2014 me. Deron Williams has fallen off so badly that I have to wonder if Nelson wouldn’t end up playing more minutes than Williams right now. Think about it — Williams averaged 14.3 points with 2.6 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.5 steals per game last season. Nelson wasn’t far off with his 12.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, 7.0 assists and just less than one steal per game.
The Nets still have a quality roster and can still make noise in the Eastern Conference next season. If they could’ve gotten even decent production from Williams during the 2013-14 postseason, they could have handled the Toronto Raptors easier and may have had some gas left to push the Miami Heat.
