Detroit Pistons: Could Chandler Parsons Be A Perfect Fit?
By Adam McGee
Likelihood Of A Deal With Parsons
As I said at the start of this piece, a key factor in Parsons truly being available for any team other than the Rockets is what ends up happening with some of free agency’s marquee names. If LeBron or Melo visit Houston and like what they see, Parsons will quickly become a lot more available.
The market interest for the 25-year-old would be strong if this transpired, so the Pistons would have some real competition. The likelihood is that there would be teams in bigger markets, that are closer to winning, to try an entice Parsons, but there’s one secret weapon they don’t have.
Stan Van Gundy will cause free agents to look twice at the Pistons, and with Parsons there’s potential it could have an even greater effect. Parsons played his college basketball in Florida during a time when Stan Van Gundy had a strong Orlando team pushing for a title.
There’s no knowing what could happen with Parsons, as is the same with many other free agents this summer, but don’t rule Detroit out just yet.
