Atlanta Hawks: Jeff Teague 2013-14 Season Review
By Adam McGee
Leadership
Teague has shown himself to have all of the qualities to be a great leader. He has developed a habit of showing up big in the postseason, and he just needs to push it to the fore more often.
Teague’s play was a major factor as to why the Hawks almost upset the Indiana Pacers in the first round of the playoffs. Teague upped his scoring output, putting the team on his back, and forcing Indiana to put Paul George on him, man-to-man.
On the other side of the coin, Teague’s drop off in play this season came just after Horford’s injury. Paul Millsap upped his game, and Atlanta really needed Teague to do likewise. When he didn’t, the Hawks went on a 9-21 run from January to mid-March, and their season took on a very different complexion.
