Teague has always come across as a scoring point guard, rather than a pass first floor general. Saying that, this season, Teague showed some real flashes with his passing and assists.

Teague finished the season with a respectable, if unspectacular, 6.7 assists per game. This placed Teague ninth in the NBA in the assists category, showing further signs of his development as a more true point guard.

Before the All-Star break, Teague was assisting at an even higher rate. He was averaging 7.2 per game, but perhaps showing improved understanding, took on more of a scoring role as was needed by his time in the second half of the year, and as a result his assists dropped a little.
