Atlanta Hawks: Dennis Schroder 2013-14 Season Review
By Adam McGee
Shooting
Schroeder has solid scoring potential, and if his game develops to the point where he gets more minutes, there’s no reason to believe that he couldn’t average 10-15 points per game.
The primary weapon in Schroeder’s scoring arsenal is his ability to get to the rim with his quickness. When he does get past his defender Schroder has shown himself to be capable of a variety of athletic layup finishes, indeed not unlike Rondo, or even Tony Parker.
What the Hawks didn’t expect from Schroder was shooting potential. Schroeder’s overall shooting percentages for the season are far from impressive, but they don’t tell the story of how he improved towards the end. As an example, Schroeder had only three made 3-pointers through February, and then had seven between after March 1.
His shooting stroke is pretty solid looking, and there is definitely room for him to improve his numbers.
