Draft History

Perhaps the most important thing to Pistons fans in regards to anyone who is going to make personnel decisions is, what are they going to do come draft time? Not many organizations have been hurt as much by poor decisions in the draft in the last couple of decades, so it still represents a somewhat raw wound for Detroit fans.

Just like anybody who is put in the general manager’s position and asked to gamble on young talent in the draft, Bower has made good and bad decisions. During his time heavily involved in the decision making process in New Orleans, the Hornets drafted the likes of Chris Paul, David West, J.R. Smith and Darren Collison.

Even in the second round, Bower has shown an eye for NBA talent, having picked up guys like Brandon Bass and Marcus Thornton, outside of the top 30 of their classes.

There’s no sure thing when it comes to the draft, but Bower’s track record is pretty good overall.
