Chicago Bulls 2013-14 Player Grades: Jimmy Butler
Season highlight/lowlight
Butler’s season did not begin on a high note as he struggled to find his shot—connecting on 39 percent of his shot attempts through the first six contests.
And to make matters worse, he also sustained a turf toe injury that sidelined him for 11 straight games from late November to mid-December.
But once Butler returned to the court, he became a constant presence in the starting lineup.
In fact, he played 38.7 minutes per game, which ranked second in the league behind Knicks’ forward Carmelo Anthony.
Butler’s best month of the season came in March—a span of 16 games.
During that time, Butler posted averages of 13.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per contest while shooting 45 percent from the field—his second highest field-goal percentage of any month during the season.
