About a month before the NBA trade deadline, the Boston Celtics and the Memphis Grizzlies swung a deal, swapping guard Courtney Lee and Jerryd Bayless. While Boston lost one of their 3-point specialists, they picked up a quality reserve guard in Bayless to fill the hole left from the rehabbing Rajon Rondo.

During his time with Boston, Bayless spent most of the time as the first guard off the bench. He flashed a decent ability to be a facilitator (4.4 assists per 36 minutes) and an efficient ball handler (2.1 turnovers per 36 minutes). He was never relied on as a lead scorer, but he could find a way to score when called upon.

Bayless is a quality reserve point guard, but if Rondo and Bradley are healthy next season, it might be wise to save the money and find a cheaper reserve option.

Verdict: Let him go.
