MIAMI HEAT 99, Charlotte Bobcats 88
Game 1, Eastern Conference First Round
The Heat went on an 18-4 run in the fourth quarter to take control of the game, while the Bobcats best chance of making it a series may be limited after Al Jefferson strained his left plantar fascia in the first quarter. He got two injections and tried to continue playing, but after starting the game 4-for-4, he made just 5-of-13 the rest of the way and was visibly limping.

The ‘Cats led 23-19 after a period, but Miami made a surge in the second quarter behind seldom-used James Jones to lead 49-42 at the break.

LeBron James led the Heat with 27 points, Dwyane Wade added 23 points and Chris Andersen had 10 rebounds. Jones, meanwhile, scored 12 points in just 14 minutes.

Kemba Walker had 20 points for the Bobcats, Jefferson added 18 points and 10 rebounds, Gary Neal scored 17 points and Josh McRoberts knocked down 15.
