If you’ve followed the NBA at all this season, the pick of Victor Oladipo for Team Rookie of the Year shouldn’t surprise you at all. Oladipo came in as the No. 2 overall pick in the 2013 draft, and he lived up to hype that followed him.

In his first NBA season, Oladipo flashed a 13.8 points per game, 4.1 assists per game, and 4.1 rebounds per game, all while only missing two contests.

Oladipo is without a doubt the block that Orlando is looking to build around for the future, and in his first season he has shown that he’s more than just a defensive presence. Oladipo ranked seventh in the league in assists per game for shooting guards, and eighth in rebounds. Coming in 21st in the league for shooting percentage for shooting guards shows his ability to be a dynamic slasher, while also being efficient.

Oladipo was one of the best rookies in the entire league, let alone the Magic, so he runs away with Team Rookie of the Year honors.
