Rodeo Road Trip Triggers Another Strong Spurs Run

As for other away games since the Rodeo Road Trip which spanned Feb. 3-21, San Antonio was lackluster through three periods in L.A., but outscored the Lakers 33-22 during the final frame for a convincing 125-109 victory and dropped the hammer down on Chicago and Cleveland. The Spurs also outclassed Golden State 99-90 in Oakland during another away win.

At Quicken Loans Arena March 4 San Antonio erased a 23-13 first-quarter hole by outscoring the Cavs 37-17 during the second period en route to rolling 122-101. Danny Green, who was cut by Cleveland earlier in his career, led the assault with 24 points. The Spurs made 14-33 from three including 3-7 from Green. San Antonio reserves supplied 60 of the 122 points.

On March 11 Chicago trailed the Spurs the whole way yet put a little sweat on Gregg Popovich’s brow late by cutting a 32-point deficit to eight. Popovich however stuck with the second string who were inserted with a 20-point lead during the fourth quarter.
