Daily NBA Fix 3-25-14: Pelicans Thrive After Regulation

If the Nets wind up finishing a game out in the Atlantic Division, Monday night’s contest in New Orleans might haunt them as they coughed up a 22-point lead in the third quarter. The Pelicans closed the third period on a 29-10 run to get back into the game. Paul Pierce forced overtime for Brooklyn with a 3-pointer with 24 seconds left. Anthony Morrow missed a long jumper at the buzzer, but atoned for it with two big 3s late in overtime. Tyreke Evans finished with 33 points, 10 rebounds and three steals for the Pelicans; Anthony Davis went for 24 points, 14 rebounds and three blocked shots. Brian Roberts added 17 points. Pierce led the Nets with 24 points, Deron Williams added 23 and Joe Johnson had 15. Mason Plumlee grabbed 11 rebounds.
MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES 109, Minnesota Timberwolves 92
The Grizzlies led 30-15 after the first quarter and were never seriously threatened the rest of the way. Mike Conley scored 23 points for Memphis and Zach Randolph added 17. Marc Gasol finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Kevin Love led the Timberwolves with 16 points, but was just 6-of-18 from teh floor, and Corey Brewer had 15 points. Gorgui Dieng finished with 11 points and 17 rebounds and Ricky Rubio had three steals.
