Here are five takeaways from the Golden State Warriors’ trip to the 2017 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, which provided optimism despite a 2-4 record.

The Golden State Warriors took a young team to the 2017 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.  The Warriors accumulated a 2-4 record, which underlies the competitiveness they displayed.  In their four defeats, the Warriors had two losses by a single possession, one of which came in sudden-death double overtime.

The spectrum of players the Warriors sent to Las Vegas included members of the 2017 NBA championship team all the way to undrafted free agents. Players from both groups put on performances that left the Warriors organization with reasons to be optimistic.

Summer League is an excellent training ground for young and developing players.  For a team as star-studded as the Warriors, it offers players valuable playing time that is not typically available.

Players are able to gain experience while the organization is able to assess player development.  With that in mind, here are five major takeaways from the Warriors’ Summer League team.
