Over the past week in the NBA, much has remained the same–in the Western Conference at least. The Warriors continue to put together a historic start (29-1) and came out on top in the most anticipated game of the year thus far against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Christmas day.

The San Antonio Spurs remain dominant as well at 27-6. They did, however, drop their Christmas day game against the Houston Rockets, but have since responded with two wins (over Minnesota and Denver).

Oklahoma City still has a 2.5 game advantage over the Los Angeles Clippers for the third seed in the West, but in their loss against the Chicago Bulls Christmas day, there were signs of concern with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook each having big games, and yet they were still unable to walk away with a win.

The Eastern Conference is a different story. There are continuous changes between the 2-10 seeds as they are all separated by just two games. As it stands today, the Cavaliers continue to reign supreme with a 20-9 record.

Following the Cavaliers are the Hawks, Pacers, Heat, Raptors, Bulls, Magic, and Celtics. One team that dropped significantly from where they used to be is the Charlotte Hornets. Dating back to over a week ago, the Hornets dropped three-straight but have managed to rattle off two wins–one against Memphis and the other against the Lakers since Christmas.
