Finally we have reached the moment basketball fans have been waiting for. After 82 long games, the 2015 NBA Playoffs are finally upon us. The last day of the regular season did not quite go as the San Antonio Spurs might have hoped.

More from San Antonio Spurs

They went up against a New Orleans Pelicans team fighting for their playoff lives and the Pelicans played one of their best games of the season, shooting 51.8 percent from the floor and getting 31 points and 13 rebounds from a determined Anthony Davis.

The loss dropped the Spurs to 55-27, locking them in as the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference. That means they’ll travel to the Staples Center Sunday night to begin a series with the Los Angeles Clippers. This is probably the worst case scenario, I can’t imagine anyone would relish the thought of going up against Doc Rivers, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and DeAndre Jordan right out of the gate.

But, the Spurs have been here before. They know that at some point they are going to have to beat elite teams if they want to win another championship. This just means they have no room for error in the first round. The Clippers are not the Dallas Mavericks. If the Spurs sleepwalk through any part of this series they’ll be at home playing golf in no time.

A series as juicy as this one naturally raises some questions. Here are a few that are currently burning a hole in my brain.
