Although obscure, the Houston Rockets originated in California, as they played their first four years in San Diego before relocating to Houston in 1971.

The bountiful amount of all-time greats that the Rockets have been able to put on the floor throughout their illustrious history is quite impressive. From NBA Hall of Famers to champions, a plethora of NBA legends abound in Houston’s history books.

There were those whose legacies were curtailed by chronic injuries (Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming) and there were those who had established stunning rèsumès with the Rockets. The criteria for making the Rockets’ all-time list are based on a player’s longevity, contribution, and accolades.

Today we take a look at the top five players to ever wear a Houston Rockets jersey, all of whom have been inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.
