One of the biggest reasons that the Hawks chose Martin as the guy to fill their wing needs, was his ability to shoot and space the floor. With the starting wings, Kyle Korver and DeMarre Carroll on the floor, the Hawks are loaded from three point range. Martin’s primary focus was to ensure there wasn’t too big a drop off when those guys went to the bench.

With ball movement and floor spacing such key philosophies of the Hawks offense, Martin got many opportunities to shoot the three ball in his flow. With the ball coming to him in rhythm, Martin was impressive too.

In his time as a Hawk, Martin shot 38.4 percent from long range, including an effective field goal percentage of 56.2 in catch and shoot situations. Martin was particularly lethal from the top of the arc, where he shot 41.2 percent.
