Entering the Golden State Warriors and Utah Jazz game on Monday, November 23rd, both teams are a little banged up. The Warriors have struggled of late with injuries and inconsistency, with them being just 9-9 to start the season and having lost three straight games and six of their last 10 games.
Simply put, they could use a gimmie against a team that is on the outside looking in on the playoff picture. Unfortunately for the Warriors, the Jazz have been more feisty than expected thus far. They might just be 5-10, but they are tied for 10th in the West, with Lauri Markkanen's sizzling play helping keep them afloat and making them more competitive than initially expected.
With the Warriors banged up, the Jazz could upset the Warriors, but what do both teams' injury reports look like heading into Monday?
Golden State Warriors' full injury report against the Utah Jazz
The Warriors are currently banged up entering Monday's game against the Jazz. They could be without four players, including three rotation players, with Jonathan Kuminga, Draymond Green, Al Horford, and Deanthony Melton all appearing on the injury report.
Kuminga is still recovering from knee tendonitis and will miss their game against the Jazz. Green is dealing with a foot injury and is questionable while Horford is out with sciatica. Lastly, Melton is out with a knee injury.
While the Jazz are currently last, 11th in the Western Conference, the Warriors aren't playing so well. And if Kuminga, Green, and Horford all miss this game, then the risk is being upset on the road.
Utah Jazz injury report against the Golden State Warriors
If injuries are an indication of how the game will go on Monday, the Jazz have a clear advantage. They only have two players listed on their injury report at the moment, Georges Niang and Walker Kessler.
Niang will miss the game with an ankle sprain, while Kessler, who was the Jazz starting center, will be out for the season after suffering the shoulder injury. Kessler's injury definitely hurts Utah's front court, with him being terrific as a protector and rebounder. However, everyone else in the rotation should be good to go against the Warriors.
Both teams are far from full strength heading into their showdown, though the Jazz could have a key advantage with them being less banged up. That may help to even the playing field, though the Warriors will likely still be favored against the Jazz.
