The Golden State Warriors' offseason is quickly going off the rails, with them having done little to improve thus far. The Warriors failing to improve their roster this summer should come as a massive disappointment to star Steph Curry.
I mean, what is there to say? He was probably hoping for Giannis Antetokoumpo or LeBron James—something. Nothing.
While he is extension eligible in August, he can send a clear message to the Golden State by holding off on re-signing unless they make a big move to build around him. However, at this point, it's anyone's guess as to what that could be.
The Warriors aren't doing enough to build around Steph Curry
The Warriors are one of the oldest teams in the NBA and haven't gotten significantly younger this offseason. Worse yet, they will start next season short-handed with Jimmy Butler out until January and Moses Moody likely out for all of next season.
With two starters out to begin the year, doing little to improve the team this summer is a recipe for disaster. If that weren't enough, the Western Conference has gotten significantly better, with teams such as the Trail Blazers and the Utah Jazz projected to be far better than they were before.
That spells bad news for the Warriors, who had the 10th best record in the West last season. They could conceivably fall to 11th or even 12th in the conference next season, which would have been almost unthinkable a few years ago.
For a team that dominated the Western Conference six seasons, that is a major fall from grace. It also spells bad news for Curry's future with the Warriors having failed their best player.
