The Kings can do every NBA contender a huge favor by making this major trade

Preventing a top-tier contender from improving would be helpful for everyone else.

With a 30-5 record, an MVP candidate in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and a well-crafted roster from top to bottom, the OKC Thunder have proven to be a force in the NBA this season.

The scary thing is, there are two factors that could make this team even more dangerous. For one, they are still waiting for two-way force and ascending star Chet Holmgren to return from his injury. Second, they are reportedly scouring the market to make a trade to beef up their roster further, and they have no shortage of assets in the treasure chest to get almost any deal done.

It should terrify the rest of the NBA that several outlets have reported OKC's interest in Brooklyn Nets marksman Cameron Johnson. For how good they are, the Thunder rank 19th in 3-point percentage this season, so adding a player averaging 19.5 points while shooting 43.6 percent from downtown is a terrifying thought for the rest of the NBA looking to compete with them.

There is another team with rumored interest in Johnson that could do the rest of the NBA a solid by keeping the sharpshooter away from the Thunder.

The rest of the NBA should want Cam Johnson to land with the Sacramento Kings

The Sacramento Kings are another name floating around in Cameron Johnson trade talks, and there is plenty of reason to believe they could make an intense push to get him.

It hasn't been smooth sailing in Sacramento this season. After early-season shortcomings, the Kings fired coach Mike Brown, and lately, rumors have surfaced about star guard De'Aaron Fox potentially setting up his eventual exit if the team does not take strides. Currently sitting outside of the Play-In picture, the Kings need a move, and trading for Cameron Johnson could undeniably help.

Sacramento currently ranks 21st in 3-point shooting this season, so just like with OKC, adding a piece who can shoot it like Johnson would be a sizeable boost. Johnson would perfectly fit in with the core of Fox, Domantas Sabonis and DeMar DeRozan, giving them a reliable kick-out threat on the 3-point line who can shoot the ball like few others in today's game can.

A move like this could be a game-changer for the Kings, knocking out two birds with one stone by making them a better team while also showing Fox that they are willing to do what it takes to win.

Outside of the Thunder, the rest of the NBA would thank Sacramento for keeping him away from OKC, as a major move like this could make them even more difficult to compete with. While it would make the Sacramento Kings better, it would not put them on the level of the formidable Thunder.
