2) Giannis Antetokounmpo

Despite all of the Bucks’ issues last season, Giannis Antetokounmpo quietly put together one of the best seasons of his career. He was a finalist for the MVP award and was named to his sixth straight All-NBA first team.

Antetokounmpo shot a career-high 61 percent from the field and averaged a career-high in assists (6.5). He also had 30+ points in 43 of his 73 games. That led to him being second in the league in scoring at about 31 PPG. Only Luka Doncic averaged more last season. He was also a great defender for the Bucks, as opponents only shot 46 percent with Antetokounmpo as the primary defender last season.

Unfortunately for the Bucks and Antetokounmpo, he was injured for the playoffs and was unable to give the Bucks the lift they needed. Nonetheless, though, he put together one of the most efficient seasons in the NBA last season and arguably of his career as well.

Antetokoumpo also had a dominant summer playing for the Greece national team, leading them to the Olympic quarterfinals and he led all players in PPG (25.8). As he continues the prime years of his career, seasons like last year will be common for Antetokounmpo. Maybe this time, it’ll lead to another successful run for the Bucks franchise.
