3) Luka Doncic

Luka Doncic has been one of the most consistent superstars in the NBA for the last few seasons. He is coming off of his fifth straight All-NBA first-team appearance, finished third in MVP voting, and led the Dallas Mavericks all the way to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2011.

Doncic averaged a career-high 33.9 PPG, which led the league last season. He also averaged a career-high in assists (9.8) and shot a career-high 38 percent from three-point range. He is one of the best offensive weapons in the NBA.

However, what’s preventing Doncic from ascending a little higher on this list is the other end of the floor. While he has made strides as a defender, Doncic is still below average as a defender, blow-by and that shortcoming reared its ugly head in the playoffs. He had a blow by percentage in the high 60s twice in the playoffs, including a whopping 67.7 percentage in the NBA Finals against the Celtics.

There is no denying Doncic’s all-around offensive game. He is one of the best, if not the best, offensive players in the NBA. In order to be the best player in the league though, he cannot be that bad on the defensive end.
