6) LeBron James

It’s 2024 and LeBron James is still one of the best basketball players in the world. Going into year 22, James is coming off one of the most efficient seasons of his career. He averaged 26 PPG, seven rebounds, and eight assists while shooting a career-high 41 percent from three-point range.

In addition to that, despite his Lakers losing in five games to the Denver Nuggets, James was dominant with 28 PPG, 57 percent shooting, and nine assists per game. He carried over that strong play into the Olympics, where he was named FIBA MVP and was the engine of a stacked roster despite being 39 years of age. James may not be as dominant as his Miami and Cleveland days, but the way he has been able to adjust his game and still be the best player on the Lakers is nothing short of impressive.

Now, James gets to enter his 22nd year playing with his son, Bronny James. But make no mistake, James still has a lot left in the tank, a distinction that he made clear during media day. If he can carry over the momentum he built over a successful summer with Team USA, then expect the star forward to remain firmly in conversations involving the top players in the NBA.
