8) Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry is coming off of a down year for his standards. Not only did the Warriors miss the playoffs, but Curry had one of the worst stretches of his career after the All-Star break last season.

In 24 games post All-Star break, Curry only averaged 23 PPG and shot 42 percent from the field and 37 percent from three-point range. He had ten games of shooting 33 percent or lower from three-point range. He did have to deal with an ankle injury that caused him to miss a few games down the stretch, but Curry’s subpar play was a big reason why Golden State’s season ended early.

However, Curry showed in the Olympics that he is still among the best offensive weapons in basketball. Curry made 17 threes across the semifinals and Gold Medal game for Team USA and was every bit of the assassin he has been for the last decade.

Curry’s tremendous first half of the season and Olympic play is closer to the version of him that we have gotten used to. Time will tell if the second half of last season was a sign of things to come or just a blip in the road for #30.
