1) Nikola Jokic

Was there any doubt? Coming off of his third MVP in four seasons and another appearance on the All-NBA first team, Nikola Jokic enters another season as the undisputed best player in basketball. Jokic makes everything look easy on the court.

He averaged 26 PPG, 12 rebounds, and nine assists last season, while shooting 58 percent from the field. He was also second in the NBA in double-doubles (68) and triple-doubles (25) last season. However, his Olympic run with Serbia this past summer is what solidifies his number-one ranking.

In the semifinals against Team USA, Jokic was absolutely masterful. Only sitting down for two minutes total in that game, he had 17 points and 11 assists, setting up his teammates for amazing looks.

The fact that he was able to carry a country with only two other NBA players against a team full of future hall of famers, was nothing short of impressive. He was in control of the pace for almost the entire game and it showed that Jokic can elevate anyone around him, NBA player or not.

Jokic has shown no signs of slowing down and has entered the prime of his career. Maybe things will change by the end of the year, but the best player in the NBA resides in the Rocky Mountains.
