As the Golden State Warriors struggle to keep pace in the Western Conference with injuries and inconsistent play, there may be light at the end of the tunnel.

According to Andscape’s Mark J. Spears, Steph Curry expects Golden State to add another star this summer. That would be huge for the Warriors, with their current roster headed nowhere fast.

That makes this summer a crucial one for them if they hope to build one last championship-caliber team around Curry before he inevitably retires. Better yet, they may have several star targets and few ways to land one.

As far as potential stars, the most likely one would seemingly be Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The Warriors may have several options to pair Steph Curry with a star

The Warriors made a compelling offer to the Bucks for Giannis, but Milwaukee seemed uninterested in pulling the trigger on that deal. The Bucks holding off on trading him until the summer was a smart move on their part.

After all, more teams will have more assets needed to make a competitive offer this summer. Still, Golden State could potentially be the most appealing option for Giannis, and he could force his way to the Bay Area.

Another potential option could be L.A. Clippers star Kawhi Leonard. He is currently under contract for next season. However, the NBA could void Leonard's contract due to alleged salary cap circumvention.

If he becomes a free agent this summer, he may be willing to take slightly less to play for a contender, at least in the short term. The Warriors aren't contenders but could be with Kawhi.

The Warriors could finally pair Curry with LeBron James

Last but not least is Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James. LeBron is unlikely to return to Los Angeles next season. He could ultimately retire, but he might be willing to play one more year for Golden State in hopes of winning a fifth championship with Curry.

LeBron and Curry were an incredible one-two punch in the Olympics, and it would be must-see TV having both play together in the NBA. A reunion with the Cleveland Cavaliers might be the more likely option, but Golden State could make a compelling case.

Ultimately, whether it's Giannis, Kawhi, or LeBron, the Warriors must bring in another star to play with Curry this season. Otherwise, they may be even worse next season.
