Detroit Pistons - Ron Holland

Ausar Thompson originally would have been the pick here, as the soon-to-be sophomore boasts an impressive amount of potential, but he's currently sidelined due to a blood clot issue. It's unclear how long he will be sidelined, but we wish him the best. In his absence, one player who may see extended minutes is Ron Holland, the fifth overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.

Holland had a rough preseason, struggling to find his footing offensively, which is not too surprising, as he's a raw 19-year-old. There were glimpses of potential on display, and it won't be shocking if he finds a groove more and more as time goes on. On a Detroit team looking to take a big leap, getting good production from their rookie top pick would go a long way.

Golden State Warriors - Brandin Podziemski

After seeing a key role as a rookie, Brandin Podziemski is destined to take on more responsibility for the Golden State Warriors in year two. With Klay Thompson departing for Dallas, the Warriors need a player to take his minutes on the wing; the 21-year-old Podziemski has as good of a case as anyone on this Golden State roster.

As a rookie, "Podz" averaged 9.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists per contest, doing a little bit of everything when he was on the court. In year two, it wouldn't be surprising if he blows those numbers out of the water. Could Podziemski fill Thompson's shoes? Legacy-wise, it will take a ton, but in terms of recent production, it's possible if the youngster takes a sizeable leap.
