Dybantsa has a relentless motor, making him a defensive pest.

Offense isn't the only thing it takes to become the best player in basketball, as there are two sides to the ball. What makes Dybantsa different from most kids his age, let alone a top-ranked player, is how hard he plays on the defensive end. Here's a film breakdown of Dybantsa's defense starting at 6:37 at this summer's EYBL.

In the defensive section of the film, you see Dybantsa's relentless motor being displayed, such as staying engaged when guarding his opponent or as a weakside help defender. He anticipates passes with great timing due to his superb instincts, utilizing his god-given abilities to wreak havoc on the defensive end. His elite lateral quickness allows him to guard shifty guards, making him a potential versatile defender at the next level.

Dybantsa is a solid weakside help defender who also does a good job seeing if his teammate gets beaten off the bounce to come over to block an opponent'spoke shot or poking the ball away to lead to an eventual fastbreak opportunity for his club. Seeing a highly-touted player make these kinds of plays on the less glamorous end of the floor consistently is what has scouts drooling over what he can ultimately become. He's that good.
