An Unquestionable Truth: The Denver Nuggets officially own the Lakers

This was by far the best game that the Lakers played against Denver this season (yay! Another moral victory), leading by as many as 11 points in the 2nd quarter. They were also up by three points with 4:52 left to go in the game. Would this story end up different from the last seven?

Of course not. The Nuggets ended this game with a 19-6 run and handed Los Angeles their 8th straight loss against the Mile High crew with a final score of 124-114. Jokic and Murray were both fantastic the entire game again, but it was Michael Porter Jr. who shined brightest, recording 25 points (on a perfect 10-10 from the field and 5-5 from three), 10 rebounds, and 4 assists.

This Nuggets team is clearly a matchup nightmare for the Lakers, whether LA fans and the media want to believe it or not. While there are no more regular season matchups between these two teams, if the Lakers are the unfortunate souls that have to match up with the Nuggets during the 1st round of the playoffs this year, it’s likely to assume it will be another quick series in Denver’s favor. After all, the Nuggets do own the Lakers until proven otherwise.
