The 50 greatest NBA players of the 2020s (so far), ranked

47) Derrick White
Boston Celtics guard Derrick White holds the distinction of being one of the only players on this list to never make an All-Star or All-NBA team but few would argue that he wasn't one of the better players of the decade. White's all-around game has made him the ultimate role player after he was drafted late in the first round by the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs taking a chance on a then-23 1/2-year-old guard seemed like a risk, but with his shooting, defense, and passing, he quickly made a name for himself.
However, the rebuilding Spurs made the decision to move him to the contending Celtics in 2021–22. He turned out to be the perfect complement to their roster, which was key to their trip to the Eastern Conference Finals and helped them force a Game 7 in that series with a game-winning put-back against the Miami Heat.
A season later, the Celtics, with White's help, tore through the league, winning 64 games and cruising to a championship in 2023–24. All-told White has played 334 games through the first five years of the decade, averaging 13.3 points on 36.3% shooting from three on 5.1 3-point attempts per game and 4.6 assists. With White having just turned 30 after winning a championship and having just signed a 4-year deal, he'll have a chance to add to his resume and possibly his trophy case with the Celtics.
