The 50 greatest NBA players of the 2020s (so far), ranked
By Cal Durrett
4) Jayson Tatum
Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum has a strong case for being one of the five best players of the 2020s, with his resume being as good as any player. Tatum has made an all-star team in each of the first five seasons of the 2020s, as well as four All-NBA teams, including three first-team and one second-team selection.
After winning an NBA title in 2024, all that is missing is a regular-season MVP and while he may split votes with teammate Jaylen Brown, it's possible that the Celtics could dominate again next season. With half-decade averages of 26.8 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 4.3 assists, it seems to be only a matter of time before he breaks through and solidifies his dominance with major hardware.
Over the next five seasons, it's entirely possible that he makes an All-Star team in all 10 years and an All-NBA team in nine. Only Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic, and Nikola Jokic have a chance to do the same, putting Tatum in rare air with another championship possibly giving him an edge over those players. Currently, Tatum comes in at fourth on this list but could stand to climb once the 2020s are all said and done.
