17) Chris Paul

Few would have expected "Point God" Chris Paul to still be playing midway through the 2020s since he was 34 at the start of the era. However, he has still played at a high level as he nears his 40s. Paul started the 2020s with the Oklahoma City Thunder before moving onto the Phoenix Suns, where he helped turn a struggling franchise around by leading them to the NBA Finals in 2020–21 and the best record in the NBA in 2021–22.

Not only that but he led the league in assists at the age of 36 that season, making his third straight All-Star and All-NBA team. Despite that, Paul was traded to the Washington Wizards in a deal for Bradley Beal and then traded again to the Golden State Warriors, giving him a chance to win a championship. Unfortunately, things didn't work out there and he was later waived, paving the way for him to sign with the San Antonio Spurs.

In the second half of the decade, he'll be pairing with Victor Wembanyama and could have a resurgence playing with a rising superstar. Paul may only have a season or two left in the tank but he is still one of the best passers in the NBA and his success at the beginning of the decade assures that he will have a place at the end of the decade. As is, he is definitely worthy of being in the top-20 best players on this list.
