The 50 greatest NBA players of the 2020s (so far), ranked
By Cal Durrett
50) Myles Turner
Despite seemingly being on the trading block every season, Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner has been the backbone of their frontcourt for nearly a decade now. While he has never made an All-Star team or won a major award, he has become a very valuable player given his shooting ability from mid-range and beyond the 3-point line, as well as his shot-blocking.
Turner frequently finishes near the top of the league in blocked shots, though he has yet to be recognized as Defensive Player of the Year. That may never happen but his defense is incredibly valuable to the Pacers, who play fast with Tyrese Halliburton and need a player who can erase shots on one end and knock down open threes on the other.
With half-decade averages of 14.9 points while shooting 35.1% from three, 6.9 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks, Turner is one of the more consistent big men in the NBA, although he often gets overlooked. Looking forward, Turner is still in his 20s and should continue to remain productive throughout the 2020s. With the Pacers making the Eastern Conference Finals in 2024 with him, there is an outside chance that they break through and win a championship, with Turner helping them get there.
