The 50 greatest NBA players of the 2020s (so far), ranked
By Cal Durrett
37) De'Aaron Fox
Prior to a recent resurgence by the Sacramento Kings, point guard De'Aaron Fox flew under the radar but he has quietly put up big numbers so far in the 2020s. In 315 games, Fox has posted a terrific 24.4 points and 6.2 assists per game. Unfortunately for Fox, he spent much of that time playing on an irrelevant team. That resulted in just one All-Star and All-NBA selection, though he did win the first-ever Clutch Player of the Year award.
He has three major honors in five seasons, and his big numbers are more than respectable. At 26 and 1/2, he likely will be able to add to those accomplishments and pad his numbers over the next five seasons. That would probably increase his placement on this list, with him currently coming in at 37 but will largely depend on the continued success of the Kings, whom Fox has helped to turn around along with Domantas Sabonis.
After adding star DeMar DeRozan in the summer of 2024, the Kings seem well-positioned to make a couple of deep playoff runs, with Fox having a chance to cement himself as a great player after going relatively unnoticed to start his career.
