12. Dominique Wilkins
Atlanta Hawks and NBA legend, Dominique Wilkins was known for his incredible athleticism, explosive dunks, and scoring ability, earning him a reputation as one of the most electrifying players in NBA history and the nickname “The Human Highlight Film.” He possessed a versatile offensive game, capable of scoring from anywhere on the court, whether driving to the basket for one of his notorious high-flying dunks or acrobatic layups, shooting mid-range jumpers, or hitting three-pointers.
In 1986 Wilkins averaged 30.3 points and 7.9 rebounds per game en route to earning his first All-Star and All-NBA selections, winning the scoring title, and finishing second in MVP voting behind Larry Bird. Known for his competitive spirit and intensity, Wilkins overcame a devastating Achilles injury when he was 32 years old continuing to play at a high level for six more years, including two seasons overseas.
His 882 games played and 23,292 points with the Hawks remain franchise records. Inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006, the two-time Slam Dunk Contest champion amassed over 26,000 points, 7,000 rebounds, 2,600 assists, 1,300 steals, and 600 blocks over 15 seasons in the NBA.
