Spurs land LeBron James and Steph Curry from Lakers and Warriors in viral trade proposal

In Wright's bonkers trade, the Spurs would accelerate their rebuild by landing two future Hall of Famers, LeBron James and Steph Curry, from the Lakers and Warriors. The Warriors would trade Devin Vassell, Zach Collins, Sidy Cissoko, Atlanta's 2027 first, and a 2030 first-round pick from Dallas.

Last but not least, the Lakers would land Keldon Johnson, recently acquired forward Harrison Barnes, the Spurs' 2027 first-rounder, and a 2031 first-round pick swap from the Minnesota Timberwolves. That is a doozy of a deal that would see the Spurs trade five players and four first-round picks to try and make them a super team.

While this trade is likely far-fetched at best, the thought of pairing Paul and Wembanyama with LeBron and Curry would be amazing. Of course, the Lakers probably aren't close to moving LeBron, even though he will turn 39 during the 2024–25 season. Were they, however, it would likely require both young players, a veteran or two, and multiple first-round picks, all of which are found in Wright's proposed deal.

The same could be said for the Warriors, with them getting the better haul in the hypothetical deal, which is likely a moot point since Curry appears to be off-limits in trade talks. Next, we'll see just how realistic the deal is and whether any team would actually agree to the trade.
